Not many people think highly of the sequel to The Lion King but this scene broke my heart the first time I saw it. Nuka was the oldest of his family, and as the oldest he was meant to look out for his siblings; obviously something he didn’t like doing at all because his little brother was the ‘chosen one’. He laments out loud why isn’t he the chosen one? He’s the oldest, he feels he’s the smartest, and his mother puts all of her (albeit twisted) love into his younger brother, bypassing him entirely. He would do absolutely anything to make his mother proud of him, to get one singular word of praise. That’s all he wanted, her to smile at him, to maybe even say she loved him because I doubt she ever said that to him.
He died trying to make her proud, he gave everything he had and I think too late she realized what she lost which only went to fuel her madness for revenge against Simba even more. Her first born, crushed to death by falling logs before her eyes and his last words to her is an apology. Not a goodbye, but an apology for not being good enough for her.
Fucking tragic.

in my headcanon, alpha!Dave has asked Rose to marry him every time he visits her, as an ironic running joke between the two of them. she politely declines every time. just before they went to meet their deaths at the hands of the Batterwitch, he asked her one last time - just to keep with tradition, and to hide how freaked out he was feeling. that time, she said yes.

A family were on holiday in Australia for a week and a half when husband, wife and their 15 year old son decided to go scuba diving. The husband is in the navy and has had some scuba experience. His son wanted a picture of his mum and dad in all their gear so he got the under water camera ready to go. When it came to taking the picture the dad realized that the son looked like he was panicking as he took it and gave the ‘OK’ hand sign to see if he was all right.
The son took the picture and swam to the surface and back to the boat as quick as he could so the mum and dad followed to see if he was OK. When they got back to him, he was scrambling onto the boat and absolutely panicking. When the parents asked why, he said ‘there was a shark behind you.’ The dad thought he was joking but the skipper of the boat said it was true but they wouldn’t believe him.
As soon as they got back to their hotel they loaded the picture onto their laptop and that was what they saw.
